Buying a scissor lift means taking on the responsibility of keeping it safe and compliant — but that’s exactly where having a workshop on your side pays off.
A few things worth knowing as an owner:
- Training matters. Operators should hold the relevant EWPA (Elevated Work Platform Association of Australia) training, HRW High Risk Work license and/or Yellow Card, confirming they’ve been trained to operate a scissor lift safely and competently.
- Regular servicing is a must. Safe work requirement routine inspections are required every 90 days. Like any piece of machinery, a scissor lift needs scheduled maintenance to stay safe and reliable. We offer ongoing service plans for equipment we sell.
- Genuine parts keep it running properly. We stock and source parts so your machine isn’t sitting idle waiting on freight from interstate.
- We’re here after the sale. If something needs attention down the track, call us — we’re not a here-today-gone-tomorrow reseller.

Generally no — under EWPA policy, fall arrest systems aren’t required on scissor lifts or vertical platforms unless a site-specific risk assessment says otherwise. Always check your site’s PPE rules.
